The idea of this character was taken from modern media - it's one of two cats of amazing talented ceramic artist from Russia, called @kudaria_ceramics, whom I follow on instagram and watch her funny stories and posts about realities of being a ceramist. She owns two funny cats, one of whom named Meany - for being grumpy, biting and rebellious. That's Meany's surprised fase on the painting. I made up a story to surround her by and dressed her up in tiny Santa's hat. I also gravitate towards bit of a poster-like, pop-art images, that's where the bold pure colours come from.
