A small relief panel carved on lime wood. One of a series about familiar and not so familiar flowers and plants, focussing primarily on the wild flowers common in the UK. Each design is based on a master drawing developed from sketches and photographs; this enables me to produce multiple versions of the same design, each one being unique due to variations in execution, colour and type of wood used. For instance, I might use sycamore, beech, or oak instead of lime. Or I might apply oil instead of colour for a natural finish. Customers may specify which treatment and wood they prefer, or ask for what other pieces I have available featuring different plants not yet on view.
