Original artwork description:

This oil depicts the village of les Baux de Provence, listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France. First I made watercolors at the foot of the castle overlooking the village. I chose that place because it has a magnificent view on the roofs, the church and the chalk hills in the background. I made these watercolors in winter because in other seasons the place is too crowded with tourists. Then I realised this oil painting on a linen canvas in his studio with the help of the watercolor studies I had made on location. I painted it in successive glazes (adding several thin layers of color on top of each other ). It took me several months because of the necessary drying time between each layer. This work is ready to hang. It will be shipped carefully packed with insurance and tracking number.
The frame in the last photo is for reference only.

Materials used:

professional quality extra fine oil paint on linen canvas over a sturdy hardwood stretcher /brushes/knife
