Original artwork description:

I wanted to paint some lemons again, but struggled to find some interesting ones. I didn't want the anaemic perfect little smooth ones that most supermarkets stock. Eventually, I found an Italian food wholesaler in North London who sourced the real thing from Amalfi. They were just what I was after - knobbly, rustic, odd-shaped, with stalks and leaves. And having painted them, they made the most delicious juice!
I laid them out here on a corner of damask tablecloth, which picks up here and there the reflection of their lovely colour.
