I have tried more representative images but, of course, a camera can simply reproduce an image. The Impressionists, at least, took the image and sought for something less representative but looked to find something more than the purely factual. Post Impressionists and Cubists (and a myriad of other 'ists' ans 'isms') took it further until we end up with bananas stuck to walls and works that seem only to become works of art because they have placed on a pedestal. Their great achievement seems to be that they have been placed in a gallery.... perhaps the gallery owners are the most significant creators in the art world..
