This is a photopolymer etching of two girls sunbathing in a river under a bridge, deep in conversation at Somersault Festival, Devon. I captured this perspective by looking down at them from above and made a sketch onto acetate from the photographic image which I then turned into a photopolymer etching.
The green was added using the chine-collé technique at the printing stage.
A photopolymer etching is a printmaking process where an image is transferred to a light-sensitive plate, called a solar plate. It is then exposed to the sun or inside a lightbox to etch the print into the plate. The plate is then inked and the print is made on an etching press.
