“Legal Alien” is an abstract expressionist painting with a cream-coloured backdrop. Off-centre and slightly toward the lower left, a blue-green sphere seems to hover, drifting leftward while unravelling on its right side. The shape feels foreign, almost extraterrestrial, yet strangely beautiful. Along the left and upper edges, faintly sketched forms seem to shy away, keeping their distance from the unfamiliar presence at the centre. The piece captures the complex emotions surrounding immigration, evoking a sense of otherness and the tension between belonging and exclusion.
