Series "Heavenly Horses of Tengri"
Here is the new series of art inspired by Tengri, also known as Tengeri - a deity in the traditional shamanistic beliefs of the Central Asian nomadic peoples. Tengri is often considered the supreme god, representing the eternal blue sky, and is a central figure in Tengrism, the ancient belief system of these cultures.
After Tengri created the sky and the earth, he placed a stick between them, and tied heavenly horses to it, which walked all over the sky around. Tengri's breath became the wind and clouds, his voice became thunder, Tengri's right eye was the Sun, and his left eye was the Moon. With thunder and lightning during a thunderstorm, Tengri strikes evil spirits that interfere with the lives of people.
Leap into Spring (diptych).
Here is another painting of the "Tengri" series signifying the galloping of free horses in the Alatau mountains. The last snow of Winter and the first blossoming flowers of Spring in one instant. This moment symbolizes one leap of the horse in its eternal race through the centuries from the past to the future. This painting was created under the impression of the magical days of the Nauryz holiday.
The edges of the canvases are thick and traced and are a continuation of the painting, which allows usage without the frame.
oil, canvas
