Original artwork description:

This was painted 'plein air' on a beautiful place on the Ashdown Forest near where I live in East Sussex UK. I'm drawn to painting trees that have character, in this case a Scots Pine, leaning towards the sunlight. I have used loose brushstrokes and a soft palette to describe a watery, wintery sun. Set in a painted wood frame with a shadow gap between canvas and frame to enhance the painting.
