Leaf #5 is on of an ongoing series of 'portraits' of natural objects. Leaves or other found objects are taken into the studio and photographed in much the same manner that a person sitting for a portrait might be. The use of selective and occasionally soft focus in these images adds to their somewhat ethereal quality.
