"Le Rêve d'un jour" has been a real battle to make it work, to make it balanced. Each time I worked a part the other part was missing harmony, and it went on and on for too long. I wanted a rendition as if it was a fantastic place with vibrant colours like in a dream, in a fantasy. I don't know if it is the wonderful red light of the winter beginning of the Spring, in the evening and in the morning, but I am a lot into red hues.
All the scenes I have been painted lately seems to be from the same place in my heart.
This series of paintings is called "Flirtation with reality".
It's an evocation of nature and countryside, an evocation of natural landscapes, I made the realism more obvious than in the other paintings, pushing further the borders between abstraction and realism.
The hues used are less flashy, less colour contrasted -even if that can still happen- (the transitions between colours are more subtle), tinted with a touch of melancholy. I want it more romantic, with a lingering feeling of nostalgia, but in a poetic way.
MATERIALS:
"Le Rêve d'un jour" is painted with acrylic on canvas (standard cotton), it is signed on the front, and will be delivered with a certificate of authenticity.
