A carnaval parade is stalled in the middle of a street. In the foreground, the participants are faced with something that looks like counter-protestors who are casting shadows from their opposing banners onto the ground.

The “Débordement” (“Overflowing”) is as such occurring outside of the canvas, in front of it, where the viewer is while looking at the painting.

This painting was exhibited at the Salon d’Automne of 2013 as part of the group of work shown under the theme of “Convergences.”
