At the edge of the Seine and at the foot of the ruins of Château-Gaillard. Lies the picturesque little town Petit Andely. From the church you can see the castle on top of the cliff. The café "Le café du petit Andelys" with the red awnings just screamed to be painted. My wife and I visited the "Festival International de Peinture Grand Format en plein air". We saw excellent art and it was quite worth it. I will surely go back to Les Andelys (made up of Grand Andely and Petit Andelys) to go paint en plein air. It's a magical place.
