I love looking at walls with peeling wallpaper, paint or posters and wondering about the history of each facade. In Layers of a Lifetime 1' I've interpreted an imaginary section of a wall in an old house by collaging together many fragments of hand painted patterns to depict the remnants of various wallpapers which once adorned the house.
To create these effects I've painted through and printed with pieces of lace and embroideries using watercolours and inks.
This painting is one of 2 in my series 'Layers of a Lifetime'
Although the painting is sold unframed, I have included an image of myself with it in a frame to give an idea of how it would look once mounted and framed.
watercolour, ink, acrylic and oil collaged papers on canvas
