This is a portrait of Mississippi John Hurt. He was one of the premier Delta Blues musicians. Being originally from Mississippi, I love researching the lives of these old blues musicians.... MJH is on of the best and most interesting. John was a self taught guitar player and his "finger picking" style is taught today to guitar students. You can hear many of his songs on utube.

LAY MY BURDEN DOWN is a one of a kind original work of art. It is produced using India ink and acrylic paint. I have stayed with my usual pallet of warm “earthy” colors.
I only sell original work so there will only be one original.
The painting is signed on the front and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.
This painting will be ready to hang, out of the box. It will be mounted on tempered masonite with a one inch border all around. It will have a hanging strip on the back and I include a “monkey hook” for easy attachment to your wall. It can be on your wall within five minutes.
