A beautiful French house, baked in the Atlantic sun, surrounded by lavender. Bees hum, lizards slither away into the shadow. The scent of lavender is intense, evocative, pungent. What lies behind the door, I wonder. A house of treasures perhaps, dusty old rooms, a grand piano seldom played. I am envious, I must confess. The work is evocative and warm, the palette rich in colour. An ideal souvenir of a French adventure, a perfect collection starter. The canvas is 0.4 inches deep and can therefore hang without the need for framing if wished.
