As in so many abstract works, This piece combines an image of realism with pure splashes of line and color. The girl seems dismayed. Perhaps the cursive document is the reason. I have tried to arrange the purely abstract parts of the painting to reflect the turmoil that she may be feeling. The end result is the confrontation between meaning, artist, viewer and the endless question: what is art. I'll leave these tough questions up to you.
LAURA'S DISMAY is a one-of-a-kind, original work of art. It is produced using acrylic paint and India ink. I have stayed with my usual pallet of warm “earthy” colors. The The painting is signed on the front and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity. The cursive document was printed and then laminated to the back of the translucent mylar surface.
This painting will be shipped in a tube. The artwork is very easy to mount on any type of board: plywood, masonite, foamboard, etc. I include simple mounting instructions with each piece that I sell and also I include mounting tape, a hanging strip and a drywall hanging device. Everything that you need to mount your painting except the board.

If you prefer, I will mount the artwork on one inch foamboard with a two inch border all around. It will be “ready to hang”, with a hanging strip attached to the back and a wall hanging device that is very simple to use. It will be shipped in a cardboard box. You may take it out of the box and have it hanging on your wall within five minutes. The extra charge is $50.00 for mounting and packaging plus the additional shipping costs, if any.
