Original artwork description:

The painting "Swings".
100см х 100см

I invite you to pause and feel the painting before reading my thoughts below. Think about the details, colors, and first associations.

It seems that swings are about childhood, excitement, and delight. But my lyrical heroine is suspended on a light structure like on a hook. What's happening is not a game, and she's not happy at all. She seems to have found herself in these circumstances unwittingly and now has to find balance. Her detached gaze and tense facial expression set the tone and dynamics for the entire composition. The frozen figure that maintains balance seems to be thinking intensely about which direction to move in. The choice is not easy; it seems that the decision is vital. But is this really the case?

My inspiration for this painting was my reflections on honesty: how I present myself to the world and how I actually feel. How important is the word "to be" for me, and how much does it compete with the word "seem." How can I maintain balance, and is it even possible in principle?

Are you familiar with the feelings that the girl on the painting experiences?
