The Canarian island of Lanzarote has a particular draw for the artist, with its dramatic volcanic landscape of sharp colour and textural contrasts set against turquoise seas. It has the added appeal of being the home of the work of the inspirational artist and landscape architect Cesar Manrique.The original painting has attempted to capture the feel of being on the Lanzarote shore in summer with the sea gently lapping against the warm sands. It was created in acrylic paints using brush with reflective paints to capture and hold the sun.
