An abstract landscape in muted blues and golds.

I began this series in 2020 during the covid 19 lockdown. During this time I felt I no longer wanted to paint with restrictions of lines and forms, instead I moved towards loose lines and curves to enjoy complete freedom on the paper.
These paintings helped promote a feeling of calm and peace during a time of intensely magnified emotions.

I love playing with the paint loosely on the paper and often let the paint itself determine the final composition of the painting, after the first wash is dry I look at it and try and work out what I see, and from there I decide what needs to be added to create the complete picture.

This semi abstract landscape is painted on Fabriano paper, a beautiful, heavy, textured watercolour paper.
