Last year I spent two weeks walking around Lake Constance which borders Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
That's right, walking, not hiking, because, not unpredictably, the terrain, also known as the shoreline, is as flat as a pancake.
Which leads to yet another explanation/confession: because there is no shortage of towns along the way, our journey turned into a kind of energetic pub crawl.
