Lake Blue Ridge From The Dam

The place is Lake Blue Ridge in the mountains of north Georgia. A very still morning, with clouds moving in and a storm not far behind. But it hadn't started raining yet, and so I went out on the dam and set up my easel to paint. A friend went with me (another painter) and it was a truly beautiful scene. The lake was so still, the water was like glass. The air was cool and there was a silvery light raking the surface of the lake. We finished up just as the rain hit. And when it hit, it hit hard. Time to pack up, dry off, and find some hot coffee! What a great day!

14 x 11 on stretched canvas, unframed. Frame it up or hang it just as it is.
