Original artwork description:

This is a bespoke original oil painting. The inspiration for this piece stemmed from my desire to capture the essence of hope. The morning light breaking through the clouds symbolizes a fresh start, a moment when darkness gives way to light. The peaceful beauty of the scene offers a sense of serenity and a reminder that even in the midst of challenges, new beginnings are always possible.

I hope this painting evokes a sense of optimism and renewal within viewers. The soft light breaking through the darkness serves as a metaphor for overcoming difficulties and finding solace in the beauty of a new day. The tranquillity of the lake invites reflection and encourages viewers to trust the natural cycle of change and growth.

The combination of oil and acrylic paints allowed me to play with a variety of techniques. Oil paints provide smooth transitions and depth for the background and water, while expressive acrylic strokes bring vibrancy and texture to the foreground light and sky. I believe a high-contrast palette emphasises the dramatic interplay between light and dark, echoing the cycle of night and day.
