‘Lagoon’ is an original flamingo painting by British artist Sian Storey.

A beautiful and decadent painting featuring a stunning golden circle design, this painting will add a luxurious feel to your living space. These birds ooze splendour with a soothing palette of blues, turquoises, rich gold and pinks. These flamingoes stand beautifully in a sunlit lagoon. Feel inspired

Sian is continually inspired by the sheer beauty of nature and in particular birds. She was drawn to flamingoes because of their recognisable postures and opulent colour. She also felt inspired by their symbolism of grace and vibrancy, and in this painting, she's surrounded the bird with beautiful water-like textures. Here Sian has used a golden sun symbol to represent serenity and the cycle of life itself.

How it was created

‘Lagoon’ was painted in Sian Storey’s studio in Hampshire, England. Using acrylics and spray paint, you'll see detailed, delicate brushwork, patterns, finished off with flashes of gold spray paint.

Sian paints in layers, as seen in the golden stencil technique of the background and rich acrylic paint of the flamingoes, reflections and water. The spray paint is used to diffuse edges and lines, creating a hazy, ethereal finish.
