This is one of the earliest paintings of the series "Beauties".
This was a serie that ran roughly from 2009 until 2016 in which I investigated how far I could go in minimalizing the visual information of a face whilst still keep it alive and radiant.
In Laetusa we see an abstract portrait of a female face that seduces the viewer with her long dark purple hair and her symbolic hand to her chin.
In the extra photos one can see how the drippings of synthetic enamel lay on top of acrylic paint on canvas.
The sides of this painting are painted all together with this work, so it looks crisp and finished from all sides.
Currently the canvas is unstretched,
this painting will be send in a tube.
It will need to get stretched on arrival.
