Ladybower is perhaps one of the most thrilling landmarks in the Peak District. Skirted by the forestry and rugged crags that typify the region, the reservoir captures rainfall from the surrounding hills to provide drinking water for nearby Sheffield.

This particular view has fascinated me for years. There has always been three boats moored on the water since I can remember. Used to fish the hopefully well stocked reservoir, they make for good detail in the foreground of the picture.

The distinctive bridge that crosses the reservoir takes traffic toward the infamous Snake Pass - the A57 road that winds over the Pennine hills between Sheffield and Manchester.

This print was created using 6 colours. Careful consideration was given to the transparency of the inks, creating further colours as the inks 'overprint' on top of each other.

I had a little trouble with the registration of this print. Each colour when printed should sit over the previous colour until the full picture is developed. Sometimes this doesn't quite work out, with some of the colours bleeding out of the edges. Hence the edition is fairly short at only 13, with many of the prints not passing quality control checks.
