I have displayed several close up images so that you can see the textures that I have created.

A free style embroidery of a reclining nude taken from one of my life drawing sketches. The figure is sewn on a calico background using black, cream and pink stitching. The blankets and mattresses are tissue paper. There is some light shading with inktense watercolour pencils. I have frayed the fabric of the embroidery before stitching it onto a calico background.

It is a great way to make an image letting the sewing machine glide freely over the fabric, much like doing a drawing without lifting your pen from the page.


The embroidery is stretched over thick board using extra strong thread. This picture would look great in a plain black frame with mount to compliment the stitching.
