“ Lady Liberty “, is from a collection of works I began in the 1990’s.
Since then year after year I have added more colour, until I feel I can do
no more.
She is an interpretation of my thoughts and dreams that expresses an
understanding of an ideal. Based on The Statue of Liberty and how I feel
about what it has become.
Mixed media including ostrich eggshell I collected myself in the Karroo Desert, SA.
This formed ‘ the skin ‘ of the sculpture, adding colour at a later date.
Dimensions --- 21 inches Wide x 67 Inches High x 16 Inches Deep
NB Each of my artworks, are an edition of one
Materials used:
Herculite plaster and then ‘dressed', using mosaic ostrich eggshell (found in the Karroo desert) plus mirror, paint, treated rolled lead, gems and found objects
