Original artwork description:

Painted entirely with my trusty palette knife

“The longer you look at an object, the more abstract it becomes, and, ironically, the more real.” Lucian Freud.

I paint people, I want my paintings to have character to tell a story but without words, as if using mime. To be dramatic, emotional, sometimes theatrical but always with feelings and always special.

My collection of conspirators is full of mischief and secrecy. Each character is always up to something naughty or scheming a dodgy deal, "I want a desperado feel to it, moody as if they have something to hide, I want them anxious, so you get those staring menacing eyes".

To tell stories to be vivid, exciting, and thought-provoking with something of myself in my paintings; in the form, the colours, the brush strokes.

I want my people to have a bit of character, a little of the night about them, but above all I want them to be unique.

Materials used:

Oil on canvas
