In this work, the artist uses lace from the dowry of his wife master artist Göknil Gümüş Sungurtekin, to show that the material not only holds aesthetic value but also carries traces of traditional history and personal memories. The lace, combined with the artist's colors, creates a new story on the canvas, reviving the absence of female figures felt in Ottoman Turkish painting from a historical perspective. The frames, motifs, and textures used in the artist's ceiling wall paintings also manifest in these works. The artist weaves elements together with small brush strokes, much like lace, creating a dialogue that offers viewers both a visual and emotional experience. The materials used in the artist's works transcend being mere visual objects, carrying deep personal and collective memories. By using these materials, the artist breathes new life and meaning into them, rescuing them from the brink of oblivion and reshaping them with the transformative power of art.
