The morning view from my studio over the valley of the Vienne river, the deep mist leaves islands of trees visible from above, I never tire of this view. The painting is calm and thoughtful, a place to reflect and relax.

The painting is a textured many layered piece with many small painterly details to enjoy over time. Veils of colour are built up with different materials to give atmosphere and interest. There is no need to frame the painting it's deep edges are painted to tone with the colours of the work.
