Original artwork description:

My work has always been heavily influenced by French country living and I'm lucky enough to spend time there painting. This little piece was inspired by late autumn rose blooms against an old pigeonnier wall in the garden of the farmhouse in which I stay. Painted largely with a palette knife, with a smidgeon of texture, it gives a traditional scene a contemporary, semi-abstract vibe.

Painted in oils on canvas paper. It is initialled on the front and signed on the back.
