To achieve this painting I feel the need to make the viewer the materiality of the scene, the thickness of the logs and their lightness immersed in the dense and humid. For the occasion, I had picked up some earth on site and I had made ​​some good pigments. I used a full sheet of that magnificent Indian paper, handmade with cotton rags, heavy and rough on which painting is always an adventure because the outcome is never completely predictable. When I lay the paper on the table from work I stopped for a while to look almost awed by the surface intact. Then I took the one-inch brush and started to wet the paper. After the first signs of color I have not stopped since.

Per realizzare questo dipinto avevo la necessità di fare percepire all'osservatore la materialità della scena, lo spessore dei tronchi e la loro leggerezza immersi nell'atmosfera densa e umida. Per l'occasione avevo raccolto alcune terre e ne avevo ricavato degli ottimi pigmenti. Ho utilizzato un foglio intero di quella magnifica carta indiana fatta a mano con stracci di cotone, pesante e ruvida sulla quale dipingere è sempre un'avventura perché il risultato non è mai totalmente prevedibile. Quando ho disteso il foglio di carta sul tavolo da lavoro mi sono fermato per un po a guardarlo quasi intimorito dalla superficie intatta. Poi ho preso il pennello da 1 pollice ed ho iniziato a bagnare la carta. Dopo i primi segni di colore non mi sono più fermato.
