Kvernufoss - by photographer Nick Psomiadis - Iceland has many waterfalls and all are very popular and easily accessible. There are some hidden little gems that don't receive much attention, Kvernufoss is one of those waterfalls. The typical winter landscape in Iceland is usually painted in grey overcast skies and although this may seem undesirable to many, they are in fact very desirable to the photographer. By applying a darkened glass in front of the lens known as a neutral density filter I was able to take a long exposure thus giving a dreamy effect on the movement of the water. The conditions also provided another opportunity to convert the colour photograph into black and white. The final image produced has a somewhat eerie feeling yet softened at the same time by the waterfall.

Kvernufoss is printed in a maximum edition size of 100, the print offered on Artfinder is edition 19/100
