Original artwork description:

I wish everybody peace and silence. With love, from lake Kochel, Bavaria, Deutschland.

Even King Ludwig II fell into the charm of this area and had a hut built on his favorite mountain, the Herzogstand.

Fantastic view of one of his favorite places on Lake Kochel took my heart as well. The Kochelsee impresses with its beautiful mountain scenery and the wooded shores and is thus a dream for all who want to be close to nature.

The lake was formed during the last ice age.

It is a true cycling and hiking paradise, the Zwei-Seen-Land, and it is also named Bavaryan Caribbean.

The image depicts a painted landscape featuring a large body of water that takes up a significant portion of the scene, with a mountain range located in the distance. The mountains are described by their dark blue coloration with white areas at their peaks, suggesting the presence of snow. The sky is represented as clear and blue, complemented by scattered white clouds. Vividly, the water's light blue hue indicates a lake set peacefully in front of the mountains. There are two boats on the water; one is positioned towards the right edge, while the other is near the center of the lake. The mountains and their snowy caps contrast against the blue sky and are reflected in the waters of the lake, connecting the elements and creating a sense of depth and serenity in this picturesque scene.

ABOUT THIS ARTWORK: CLASSIFICATION, TECHNIQUES & STYLES

Watercolor is a painting in which gum arabic binds transparent pigments revealing the support of the painting. The gouache, of identical composition, is opaque. A watercolor is a water-based painting on paper. We rarely speak of a painting for a work painted in watercolor. Watercolor paintings are considered to be a unique way to creatively represent dreams, illusions, emotions and luminous feelings using water soluble pigments. However, painting with watercolors can be difficult. It's a difficult medium to master, in large part because it can be ruthless and unpredictable. Mistakes are difficult to correct and its fluid nature makes it difficult to control. Yet it is these very qualities that give the medium its undeniable charm.
