This painting stems from an exploration of the connection between the human being and nature.
The superimposition of the maple leaves, from a photograph I took, symbolises the deep interconnection between the woman and her surroundings, the leaves, in merging with the subject, change colour and become like a simulacrum with opposite colours, like a negative film. The use of colour contrasts and textures was inspired by the desire to express and merge the duality and integration of different aspects of life. Mixed media, acrylics on canvas.
