So many cultivated English fields have long pale ochre long grass and reeds around their edges, their purpose- to give the wildlife somewhere to take refuge and search for food. It is also becoming a feature on the English landscape forming another dash of colour and shape in the vista.
Kites overhead is Paul's take on this graphic landscape feature, which is frequently glanced by the shadow of the patrolling Kites above, scanning for their next meal.
Creating the piece
Oilpaint applied with mainly palette knife and also dashes of loose brushwork was applied over a base of textured acrylic blends of colour. Board with triple gesso primer.
