The picture was painted en plein air from nature. It was a wonderful day. The air was filled with the heady aromas of lilac and spring birds were singing. The picture was created in one breath, easily and with pleasure. A girl who, while walking with her parents, suddenly ran along the path like a white butterfly, gave me the idea to draw a girl with a kite in her hand. Because she reminded me of myself as a child: I used to run down the slope near my house with a homemade paper kite in my hand. I was so happy then!
