Original artwork description:

Hi, this beautiful painting I have titled, “ KING OF THE CASTLE “.
It is an oil painting onto acrylic and gesso base using top quality handmade oils, onto professionally custom made stretchers and top quality high tension canvas.
The painting depicts the enchanting Lympne Castle, situated in Kent which overlooks the ruins of the Portus Lemanis, a Roman Saxon shore settlement and port, on the edge of famous Romney Marsh.
The King, is of course the magnificent Kingfisher, who can often be spotted along the Royal Military Canal which runs along the base of the hill.
I was inspired to paint this scene as I have spent many years admiring the view from walking and cycling along the canal path. I have also had the privilege of holding my own exhibition at Lympne Castle. This area has such a special place in my heart.
I like to think that this painting will carry forward for the next 100 years or so, a slice of history that one day may otherwise be lost forever . Many Thanks for viewing , Regards Colin.

Materials used:

Michael Harding Oils , bespoke Stretcher Bars , and Quality High Tension Canvas , Gesso, Acryic
