I like my paintings to have an atmospheric, emotional, mysterious feel to them. Almost like a dream,a still from an old movie turned into art,a flicker of the memory hidden deep inside. A subtle suggestion two a famous Japanese proverb of the three wise monkeys. The apes are widely known as the “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil,” but in reality, the monkeys have names. The one covering its ears is named Kikazaru; Iwazaru covers his mouth; and Mizaru covers his eyes. In this painting a girl ( a live model) playfully covers her ears, almost like giving out a secret code, which is known to few. Part 1 of the series of 3
