Original artwork description:

An overcast day can be beautiful, too. I painted this distinctive Keyhole rock en plein air (on location) at the Mendocino Headlands State Park a few years back. The area has a unique blend of gentle trails, rugged coastline, and secluded beaches. In the absence of bright sunlight, the atmosphere of the overcast day presents the coastline with calm muted reflections, and the sea softly merges with the sky at the disappearing horizon line.

Materials:
Oil paint on oil-primed Claessens Belgian linen on 1/8 MDF archival art panel, the back of the panel finished with melamine that prevents warping and deterioration. Painting surface is protected with a coat of Gamvar varnish.

This painting is unframed and will require a frame to hang. It will easily fit in a standard (USA) 9"x12" frame.
