Kenopsia is the eerie, forlorn atmosphere of a place that's usually bustling with people but is now abandoned and quiet. The current series focusses on the presence of absence. The image suggests a turn from the past to an exploration of an uncertain future. As always mystery is at the core. Rather than expressing what might be described as unique, this is an exploration of what is shared. What are the images that we, as humans, find meaningful? What do we describe as personal? Each painting is a conversation to which we all all can contribute, for which we all have stories.
