Artwork description:

Clouded Yellow butterflies are just being see in the gardens in the UK and throughout. A group of them is sometimes called a Kaleidoscope.
Virginia Woolf's novel 'Jacobs Room' and her descriptions of the landscape inspired me to do this artwork.
I captured the flight of butterflies by drawing with a pipette full of ink onto a transparent film many times until it looked spontaneous. The drawing was exposed to a light sensitive plate and developed it until it was deeply etched.
The dark lines are very embossed and the colours are painted and rolled onto the plate until I am ready to run it through an etching press.
This Polymer etching is from a variable edition of 10.
Each one is slightly different due to the relief monotype effect which is difficult to replicate so I am only selling one at a time.
