Anyone who has ever stood, even briefly, before the architecture of Louis Kahn knows the feeling: silence becomes space, light reveals structure, and form speaks with quiet strength. "Before Dawn" is born from that experience — an attempt to make it visible and shareable. At the center of the work is a deep, central perspective that cuts through the void between the blocks of the Salk Institute, drawing the eye toward the horizon. A tiny human figure appears in the distance — not a subject, but a measure, placed only to emphasize the scale and vastness of the space.

Light plays a transformative role. By day, it suspends the scene in a moment just before the city awakens. By night, artificial illumination cloaks everything in shades of blue and violet, creating an atmosphere that is surreal, intimate, and still.

The work is created on a wooden panel by imprinting a photographic image, which serves as the visual and emotional matrix. The colors — made from earth pigments and oxides — are fixed by sunlight, using egg whites as a natural binder. A slow, essential process that echoes the rhythm of matter and the time of architecture.

Complete with certificate of holographic authenticity.
