OBLIVIUM – The Aesthetics of Dissolution

Oblivium is an artistic investigation into the ephemeral nature of perception, where form is sublimated into pure essence. Previewed at the Affordable Art Fair Milan 2020, the project erases the boundaries between reality and abstraction, reducing the landscape to a primordial horizon—an obsessive sign, endlessly reconfigured.

Rooted in a deep reverence for nature, Oblivium captures the tension between beauty and fragility, presence and disappearance. Through long exposures and layered compositions, the elements—sea, sky, and sand—dissolve into a dreamlike space, where time is suspended, and reality becomes fluid.

The work moves beyond figurative photography, embracing a radical subjectivism that echoes the avant-garde’s pursuit of transcendence. In this vision, nature ceases to be represented; instead, it reveals itself in its most essential, almost metaphysical form.

In π-K22, time dissolves into a suspended balance between matter and absence, between memory and oblivion. The scene, imbued with ethereal tones, blurs the boundaries between sky, sea, and land, evoking an elusive, almost evanescent landscape.
The horizon becomes rarefied, while the impalpable light caresses the surface of the water, transforming it into an inscrutable veil.

The color palette, dominated by delicate shades of blush pink, sandy beige, and smoky grays, creates a dreamlike and meditative atmosphere. These soft, desaturated tones reinforce the idea of a landscape suspended between dream and dissolution, suggesting a minimalist and sophisticated aesthetic.

Part of the Oblivium project, this photograph is embedded in an aesthetic and conceptual exploration of the dissolution of reality and the perception of time.
The long exposure erases details, allowing the pure essence of space to emerge—a vision that withdraws from definition to move closer to an inner, contemplative dimension.

π-K22 is not just an image but a gateway to the visual unconscious, an invitation to lose oneself in absence, to explore the silence of memory in perpetual transformation.

This piece is perfectly suited for minimalist, contemporary, or wabi-sabi-inspired interior design settings, where the essential and the harmony of colors play a fundamental role. Placed in spaces such as modern living rooms, boutique hotels, creative studios, or serene bedroom designs, π-K22 becomes a focal point of introspection and visual tranquility.
Its chromatic balance and emotional depth make it ideal for environments that favor natural light, organic materials, and a refined yet welcoming atmosphere.
