OBLIVIUM – The Aesthetics of Dissolution
Oblivium is an artistic investigation into the ephemeral nature of perception, where form is sublimated into pure essence. Previewed at the Affordable Art Fair Milan 2020, the project erases the boundaries between reality and abstraction, reducing the landscape to a primordial horizon—an obsessive sign, endlessly reconfigured.
Rooted in a deep reverence for nature, Oblivium captures the tension between beauty and fragility, presence and disappearance. Through long exposures and layered compositions, the elements—sea, sky, and sand—dissolve into a dreamlike space, where time is suspended, and reality becomes fluid.
The work moves beyond figurative photography, embracing a radical subjectivism that echoes the avant-garde’s pursuit of transcendence. In this vision, nature ceases to be represented; instead, it reveals itself in its most essential, almost metaphysical form.
π-K10 presents itself as a delicate meditation on space, balance, and perception. The composition is structured around a singular, almost suspended horizon, which divides the image into two planes of soft motion. This line, subtly accentuated yet diffused, acts as a visual anchor in an otherwise fluid and ethereal expanse. The scene is rendered with an intentional ambiguity, where sky, water, and sand dissolve into one another, blurring the distinction between solid and void, presence and absence.
The chromatic palette leans toward warm, desaturated tones—muted pinks, soft beiges, and dusty browns—creating a sense of serenity and weightlessness. The absence of stark contrasts allows the elements to merge seamlessly, reinforcing the image’s dreamlike quality. Shadows appear as gentle smudges, while highlights are diffused, contributing to the sensation of an endless, floating landscape.
Here, the planes seem to invert, and the natural order of space unravels—sky and sand fuse, intertwine, and confuse the gaze. The horizon no longer separates but instead becomes a point of convergence, where elements dissolve into one another in a state of quiet metamorphosis. π-K10 resists fixation, dissolving into a shifting, liminal space where vision drifts between real and unreal, solidity and evanescence.
