Another foray into juxtaposing the 1960s fashion culture with that of the Cold War culture. Hollywood in the 50s and 60s did a great job depicting the sexiness and allure of being a spy (James Bond, MOD Squad, etc.) and there was always a Bond Girl...who could either just be a distraction, or ended up being a double agent...in a few different ways.
IRL ("in real life" for those a bit older...my kids taught me this), there were definitely instances of woman doing whatever it took to get information. Especially when during the era woman were constantly objectified and viewed as the weaker sex, less intelligent, and less capable. Bad mistake...as this perceived, but not actual, weakness was used to full advantage by female spies in a myriad espionage exploits.
Be careful the book cover...there just might be a gun in the pages.
