This is a nice paper to work with, convenient size, just the right absorbency for a raw paper, thick and bright paper.
I used this pose earlier in a different painting. This time I isolated the one monk, sat him in a colourful swirling setting, possibly a park, possibly the monk’s imagination, or the viewer’s imagination. The monk, he’s just sitting…
Close up pictures give a better sense of the paint and paper. Then there’s the work in progress and me with the painting taking this more recent and better photo.
