acrylic colour on acid free watercolour paper 300gm weight , 8.4 x 11.5 in, 21 x 29.5 cm
Small projects in A4 size are great to work out ideas, and just as a way of staying agile with colour and paper. The lines are fluid, the colours simple, spontaneous and expressive. The challenge is to put movement into the painting with colour and ‘splash’. The simpler result can be quite refreshing. This one comes from sketches I did on location. As I recall I captured this big guy who was standing right next to me as I was sketching someone beside him. This is a quick impulse sketch at that moment. I often get into similar ‘quick impulse’ mode when I paint, making the painting uniquely different from the sketch or the ‘plan’. Here quickly signing I didn’t see that I signed the year as 20118 instead of 2018!!! I tend to pass some white paint over my pencil lines … making them quite permanent.
The close up picture is to give a better sense of the paint, paper and the brush stroke. Then there’s the work in progress, and the sketch which served as the inspiration for this work. There’s also a studio shot where you can see how I’m working on a few projects at the same time.... brain just works better that way. Then there’s me at a waiting area , ready to draw!

Please note that you can purchase up to 3 paintings of this same size or smaller in one order to be included in the same 1 shipping fee. Packaging for my small paintings like this one is sealed in plastic sleeve, sealed in a padded hard plastic file case, and in an envelope.
