Oil and soft pastel collage painting, inspired by the forms and colours of a treescape reflected. Occupying a space somewhere between representation and abstraction, the painting seeks to describe the relationship between two views of a scene - one above the lake surface, one reflected within the surface.
The scene is based on studies from the Grotto Pond, in the Chatsworth Estate, Derbyshire.
Materials used:
Mount board, ingres paper, pastel.
